DSP Composed Rangasthalam’s Entire Album in Just 4 Days — The Untold Story Behind Telugu Cinema’s Most Iconic Soundtrack

Some masterpieces are born in months. This one was born in four days. Legendary composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) has dropped a jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes revelation about the making of Rangasthalam’s iconic soundtrack — and it’s the kind of story that reminds you why some artists are simply on another level.

Rangasthalam: Overview

The 4-Day Musical Miracle

Devi Sri Prasad revealed in a conversation with Rajesh Manne that all the songs in the blockbuster film Rangasthalam were completed in just four days — with the only exception being the hit dance number Jigelu Rani, which featured Pooja Hegde.

Think about that for a moment. An entire album that still gets played at every Telugu celebration, composed in less than a working week. It’s the kind of creative output that feels almost impossible — yet here we are.

This is what film score composition at its most instinctive looks like — raw, intuitive, and completely in sync with the soul of the film.

Why Rangasthalam’s Music Hit So Deep

The film follows Chittibabu, a partially deaf yet pure-hearted man, and his brother Kumar Babu as they take on a corrupt village president in an attempt to overthrow his unlawful 30-year regime. Every song in the album breathed the earthy, rustic air of that world — and DSP captured it almost effortlessly, apparently in record time.

The film starred an ensemble cast alongside Ram Charan including Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Jagapathi Babu, Naresh, Prakash Raj, and Aadhi Pinisetty, and went on to become a massive critical and commercial success.

What’s Next for Ram Charan?

Ram Charan is next set to star in the sports action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, which revolves around a spirited young man from a village regarded as a legend across multiple sports including cricket, wrestling, and running. The film is touted as a journey of self-discovery and excellence, also exploring themes of personal rivalry and budding romance. pinkvilla

Peddi is set to release on June 4, 2026, and stars Ram Charan alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, and Jagapathi Babu.
