Chris Pratt Is Back and James Reece Is Going Global — The Terminal List Season 2 Has an Official Date

Four years is a long time to wait. But when the wait ends with Chris Pratt promising something bigger, more intense, and more ambitious than anything in Season 1, it suddenly feels worth every moment. The Terminal List Season 2 is officially happening — and October 2026 just became a very important month for Prime Video fans.

The Terminal List Season 2 : Overview

The Official Announcement

During Amazon’s Upfronts presentation, Prime Video announced that all eight episodes of The Terminal List Season 2, executive produced by Chris Pratt, Antoine Fuqua, David DiGilio, and author Jack Carr, will premiere on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Pratt posted a video from Prime Video’s “Blue Carpet” telling fans: “I know you’ve all been excited. I’ve been so excited. You’re not gonna believe what we’ve created for you.” He added, “I cannot wait for you to see what we got cooked up for you.” Screen Realm

That kind of genuine excitement from the lead actor himself — not just a corporate announcement — says a lot about what’s coming.

What’s the Story in Season 2?

The Terminal List Season 2 will reportedly be based on Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, with the basic plot expected to focus on how James Reece goes on a journey of violent redemption, finding a new mission and purpose after completing his list. Reece comes out of hiding following a deadly terrorist attack and travels the globe to track terrorist leaders while uncovering an assassination plot.

This is a major tonal shift — Season 1 followed Reece as a Navy SEAL who returns home after his entire platoon is ambushed, uncovering a web of dark forces working against him. Season 2 opens things up into an international conspiracy thriller. Think less personal revenge, more globe-trotting military thriller on a geopolitical scale.

Pratt has promised a grander adventure, saying: “This is bigger, it’s more intense and ambitious than anything we did in the first season.” MovieWeb

The Cast — Who’s Back and Who’s New?

Chris Pratt stars as James Reece, Tom Hopper plays Raife Hastings, Constance Wu returns as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim plays Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth is Jules Landry. Season 2 also stars Gabriel Luna, Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, and Shiraz Tzarfati.

That’s a seriously stacked ensemble — and the addition of Olga Kurylenko and Gabriel Luna brings some serious dramatic firepower to Reece’s international mission.

Why The Terminal List Matters?

When Season 1 premiered on Prime Video in 2022, it earned a modest 42% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes — but struck the right chord with audiences, earning a stellar 94% audience score. It’s one of those rare shows where the fans outright loved it even when critics were lukewarm, and that audience loyalty is exactly why a four-year wait hasn’t dimmed the excitement one bit.

Production for Season 2 finished in March 2026, with filming wrapped in Toronto in October 2025. The show is polished and ready — and it’s heading to screens in just a few months. TV Insider
