tripleS Members ChaeYeon, HaYeon & Sullin Involved in Minor Car Accident — Here’s What We Know

WAVs, we have an important update from MODHAUS — and the good news is everyone is safe. Here’s the full story.

What Happened with tripleS?

On May 13, MODHAUS announced that tripleS members ChaeYeon, HaYeon, and Sullin had been involved in a minor traffic accident while traveling and had visited a medical institution. Following the medical staff’s recommendation, all three were advised to rest and focus on recovery. Comic Basics

The agency moved quickly to reassure fans and make alternative arrangements for the group’s scheduled appearance.

The Performance Change at UNIST

As a result of the accident, the three members sat out tripleS’s performance at the UNIST Cultural Exchange Festival. Their bandmates YuBin, Kaede, and ChaeWon stepped in to replace them in the lineup. Comic Basics

Here’s the updated member breakdown for the performance:

MODHAUS stated: “We sincerely apologize to WAV for causing concern and disappointment to those who have been waiting for the performance. Our company will continue to prioritize the artists’ health above all else and provide full support so they can recover fully.” Comic Basics

Who Are tripleS?

For those new to the group — tripleS are anything but ordinary. TripleS is a South Korean 24-member multinational girl group formed by MODHAUS, aiming to be the world’s first decentralized idol group, where members rotate between the full group, sub-units, and solo activities — all as chosen by fans through NFT photo cards called “Objekts.” KPCNews

Fans, officially called WAV, participate in “Gravity” voting events through the COSMO app, deciding everything from sub-unit lineups to title tracks and group content. It’s a fan model unlike anything else in K-pop — and it’s exactly why WAVs feel so personally invested when news like this breaks. onenewspage

The Bigger Picture: ASSEMBLE26 Is Still On

This incident comes as tripleS are gearing up for one of their biggest years yet. In January 2026, tripleS announced their plans for Assemble26 ‘Love&Pop’, consisting of two separate full-group comebacks — the “Love Side” in the first half of the year and the “Pop Side” as a Japanese comeback expected in early 2027. DM Talkies

The Love Side’s first part is scheduled for June 1, meaning this brief setback arrives at a particularly busy time for the group. Here’s hoping all three members make a swift and full recovery.
