Bollywood’s romantic film genre has been waiting for a fresh pair to walk in and make audiences feel something real again. With the Chand Mera Dil trailer now out, it’s safe to say — that wait may finally be over.

Chand Mera Dil: Everything You Need to Know at a Glance

What the Trailer Gives You

The 2-minute 54-second trailer introduces Aarav (Lakshya) and Chandni (Ananya Panday) — two engineering students whose lives collide in an unpredictable whirlwind of campus romance, deep-seated passion, and the stinging reality of heartbreak.

It opens beautifully — butterflies, laughter, dreamy chemistry — and then pulls the rug out with an incident that tears the couple apart. Ananya looks ethereal in dreamy pastel silhouettes, while Lakshya breaks free from his reputation as a protective action star to become a vulnerable young man navigating love for the first time. The contrast works brilliantly.

The trailer reflects the emotion that not every love story ends happily ever after — drawing comparisons to a Saiyaara-level emotional rollercoaster, and prompting audiences to wonder whether the two films share any thematic similarity.

Why This Film Feels Different

After teasing fans with a soulful pre-release musical album featuring tracks like Aitbaar and Khasiyat, the makers have now unveiled the official trailer — and it marks the first-ever pairing of Ananya Panday and Lakshya on the big screen, directed by Vivek Soni.

The music backbone is gold: the film is bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in association with Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta, with music composed by the legendary duo Sachin-Jigar and lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. That combination — Dharma’s visual polish, Sachin-Jigar’s melodic depth, and Amitabh Bhattacharya’s lyrical craft — is a recipe that has repeatedly worked for emotionally resonant Bollywood romances.

The trailer’s own caption captures its spirit perfectly: a love story that’s not perfect, not planned — just a little real. And in 2026, that kind of emotional honesty is exactly what audiences are craving.
