Bhooth Bangla Is Ekta Kapoor’s Biggest Career Hit — And She Has Priyadarshan to Thank for It

Bollywood doesn’t always celebrate behind-the-scenes heroes, but sometimes a film’s success is so massive that the gratitude just spills over publicly — and that’s exactly what happened with Bhooth Bangla.

Akshay Kumar’s first release of 2026 has turned into one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year, and producer Ekta Kapoor isn’t holding back her emotions. After praising Akshay Kumar, she turned the spotlight on the man who made it all possible — veteran director Priyadarshan, who delivered this blockbuster as his landmark 100th film.

Bhooth Bangla: Key Facts

“The Biggest Hit of My Career” — Ekta Kapoor’s Heartfelt Note

Taking to Instagram, Ekta wrote a deeply personal tribute to Priyadarshan. She revealed that even before the shoot began, Priyadarshan told her he wouldn’t proceed unless the producer was financially secure — a rare, deeply human quality in an industry driven by creative egos.

She called it “the most fun” she’s had working with anyone, and despite occasional creative disagreements, the collaboration was always built on mutual respect. Her sign-off said it all: “Thank you Priyan Sir, for your vision, your discipline, and for giving me the biggest hit of my career.”

Priyadarshan, a National Award-winning filmmaker known for juggling comedy and horror with effortless precision, has had a legendary career spanning Malayalam, Hindi, and Tamil cinema. Bhooth Bangla is a fitting milestone for his 100th directorial venture.

Why Bhooth Bangla’s Success Matters for Bollywood?

This film isn’t just a personal win for Ekta Kapoor — it signals something bigger. Bollywood horror-comedies are having a genuine box office renaissance, and Bhooth Bangla fits right into that wave.
