Here’s everything dropping this week across Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, JioHotstar, and ZEE5.

All 5 South OTT Releases This Week — At a Glance

1. Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) — Tamil | Amazon Prime Video | May 6

Directed by Vignesh Shivan and starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, LIK is set in the year 2040 in a world where a high-tech app decides who falls in love with whom. Vasu, a village boy working as the voice of this romance-finder algorithm, ends up falling for Dheema — someone the app predicts will never be his match. When their love starts threatening the entire system, the company moves to end it. It’s a quirky, thought-provoking watch that asks a very human question: can an algorithm ever replace real feelings?

Verdict: Best for fans of quirky sci-fi love stories with a social message.

2. Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam — Malayalam | Netflix | May 8

The sequel to the 2024 hit Bharathanatyam, this Saiju Kurup and Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer takes the Sasidharan Nair family on a trip to Sreekandapuram — which starts simple and spirals into chaos when dark revelations about their late father surface. Directed by Krishnadas Murali, this dark comedy thriller blends family drama with sharp humour. Already a super hit at the Kerala box office with ₹23 crore in 19 days, it’s now ready for your living room.

Verdict: A worthy sequel with strong performances — perfect for Malayalam cinema fans.

3. Dacoit: A Love Story — Telugu | Amazon Prime Video | May 8

Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur lead this intense action romance directed by Shaneil Deo. The film follows Hari, a convict who escapes prison seeking revenge on his former lover, Saraswati, whom he believes betrayed him. But as they reunite across a series of daring heists, buried emotions resurface. With Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj in the supporting cast, the film has real weight to it. Verdict: Gentle, feel-good watch for the whole family.

5. Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros — Malayalam | JioHotstar | May 8

Now the spotlight is fully on them as they face adulthood, social pressure, and the question of what “success” really means. Directed by Savin SA, Vaazha 2 already conquered the Kerala box office and arrives on OTT ready to win over a wider audience.
