What the Rumours Said — and What’s Actually True

Rumours recently suggested that Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya are looking forward to tying the knot in an intimate wedding in Jamnagar. However, while talking to ETimes, Janhvi’s father Boney Kapoor clarified there is no truth to the speculations — simply saying, “No, this is not true.”

This isn’t the first time the wedding machine has gone into overdrive over this couple. Earlier, Janhvi herself reacted when a paparazzi post suggested she was planning a wedding at the Tirupati Balaji Temple, commenting “Kuch bhi” — a remark that quickly went viral. Clearly, neither she nor her family is in any rush to address the relentless speculation with anything more than a light eye-roll.

But Their Love Story Is Very Real

The fact that no wedding is happening anytime soon doesn’t mean the relationship isn’t serious. From adorable temple visits to Shikhar attending intimate Kapoor family gatherings, their bond has been evident to anyone watching.

Janhvi has also spoken candidly about what this relationship means to her on a personal level. While talking on a podcast, she stated that love looks safe for her, adding that it has helped her deal with helplessness — and that his presence has always done that for her in her life. That’s not the language of a casual relationship.

And when it comes to how she actually imagines her wedding someday? Janhvi has spoken about having a simple ceremony at her favourite religious place, in a gold Kanjeevaram saree, with her husband wearing a lungi and food being served on banana leaves. Grounded, intimate, and deeply personal — a far cry from the lavish Jamnagar extravaganza the rumours were cooking up.

Janhvi and Shikhar are a beloved Bollywood couple whose relationship has captivated fans — much like the kind of real-life romances that have always fascinated Indian cinema audiences, a tradition deeply embedded in Bollywood celebrity culture.
