The Planet Series Legacy?
Girls Planet 2 is the latest chapter in Mnet’s powerhouse “PLANET” audition franchise, which launched in 2021 with Girls Planet 999 — the show that gave the world Kep1er. The series continued with Boys Planet (forming ZEROBASEONE) and most recently Boys II Planet (forming ALPHA DRIVE ONE). Every season has produced a globally beloved K-pop group, and fans are already buzzing about which new girl group icon will emerge from this next chapter.
The pedigree speaks for itself. The franchise has a proven track record of launching careers, and Girls Planet 2 carries all that momentum — plus a truly worldwide scope.
How to Audition for Girls Planet 2
Online applications opened on May 1, 2026 at 8 AM KST and are open to any female born before January 1, 2013, regardless of nationality, place of residence, prior experience, or agency affiliation. Mnet will also hold in-person audition rounds at KCON Japan 2026 and KCON LA 2026 — giving hopefuls across Asia and North America a chance to shine on familiar ground.
This is one of the most open and inclusive audition processes in K-pop history. The original Girls Planet 999 already proved that global talent can reshape the idol industry — and this sequel is set to go even bigger.
