XElectron Luminex Is the ₹14,990 Smart Projector That Lets You Watch Netflix on Your Ceiling — Literally

Home cinema just got a whole lot more accessible. XElectron, one of India’s fastest-growing homegrown electronics brands, has launched the Luminex Smart Projector at just ₹14,990 — and it comes packed with features that most projectors at twice the price don’t offer. Official Netflix, a 250-inch max screen, and a body that rotates 180° to project on your ceiling? Yes, really.

What Makes XElectron Luminex Stand Out?

Two things immediately separate the Luminex from the crowded budget projector space.

First, it runs Whale OS with officially certified OTT apps — Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Zee5, SonyLIV, and Jio Hotstar are all built in and properly licensed. No sideloading, no workarounds, no streaming stick needed. Certified OTT access on a sub-₹15,000 projector is genuinely rare in India right now.

Second, the 180° rotatable design means you can flip the projection from your wall to your ceiling without moving the device. If you’ve ever wanted to watch a film lying flat on your bed looking up — this is your projector.

Setup Is Actually Effortless

One of the most underrated parts of any projector is the setup experience — and this is where the Luminex earns real points. Auto Focus, Auto Keystone Correction, Auto Screen Alignment, and Obstacle Avoidance mean the projector calibrates itself to your space. Point it, power it on, and it figures the rest out.

For anyone who’s wrestled with manual keystone sliders and blurry focus rings on budget projectors, this is a meaningful upgrade. Keystone correction compensates for the trapezoidal distortion that occurs when a projector isn’t perfectly perpendicular to the screen — automating this alone removes the single biggest headache in projector setup.

The 50,000-hour LED lifespan also means you won’t be hunting for replacement bulbs anytime soon — that’s well over a decade of daily use.

Connectivity That Covers Everything

Dual-Band Wi-Fi ensures stable wireless streaming via AirPlay and Miracast. Bluetooth 5.2 keeps audio latency low when paired with external speakers or headphones. HDMI and USB ports mean you can plug in a gaming console, laptop, or set-top box directly. It’s a genuinely complete connectivity package at this price.
