Norwich City return to the Premier League

Norwich City have been promoted back into the Premier League after being relegated into the second division following the 19/20 campaign. The Canaries have been sent up automatically now that both Brentford and Swansea have fallen behind in the race for the title.

Daniel Farke has led his side well this season, with the team amassing 90 points from 42 games being played so far. Only Watford are close to them, although 8 points behind at this season, and Norwich look destined to lift the Championship trophy at the end of the season unless they choke in the last four games of the season, which seems unlikely given their form this season.

While they didn’t have a very strong showing in 19/20, Norwich will be hoping for a better campaign in 21/22. More so because of the talent, they have at their disposal which includes Emiliamo Buendia, Max Aarons, Tim Krul, and Teemu Pukki.

The Finnish striker did not have the most consistent season while in the Premier League, and a second chance at the top flight could be much different than the first time.

Emiliamo Buendia was ecstatic about Norwich’s promotion back into the Premier League, and here is what he had to say:

“It feels amazing, an unbelievable feeling. It was a hard season for everyone, it was short but we had many, many games in both league and cup games.

“But, before the game knowing you are back in the Premier League, this feeling is amazing. We wanted to win today, but the game was difficult. We are delighted to be back in the Premier League!

“In my case, I was sleeping! I knew nothing about the results, so when I woke up, and I saw my phone, I had about 20 missed calls, lots of messages of congratulations. I checked my phone and saw we were promoted; that was amazing.

“We came to the game in a really, really good mood. We wanted to win the game; I’m proud of the effort of everyone in the game; with one less player, everyone was amazing. We have an important game on Tuesday because with this team; we want to be champions.”
