How Akshay Kumar Made His Entry
Akshay Kumar took to his social media accounts on March 14 with an excited message for director Rohit Shetty on his birthday. The post was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes clip where the original Golmaal gang — Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor — could be seen sitting together, reminiscing about the franchise’s glorious run spanning over two decades since the original 2006 film.
Then came the surprise. Akshay Kumar walks in, joining the gang, and the energy instantly multiplied. The clip confirmed that the film has officially gone on floors and production is well underway. Fans went berserk in the comments — and rightly so.
What Role Will Akshay Play in Golmaal 5?
Early reports suggest Akshay Kumar could be taking on an antagonist role in Golmaal 5 — a sharp contrast to his usual heroic or comic persona. If true, this could be the most unexpected and exciting casting choice the franchise has ever seen. Imagine Akshay’s comic timing blended with a villain’s edge — that’s box office gold right there.
He has reportedly blocked just 18 days from his packed schedule for the shoot, which means his role, while impactful, will likely be a high-energy special appearance or a key supporting antagonist arc.
What’s Next for Akshay?
Beyond Golmaal 5, Akshay Kumar is currently gearing up for Bhooth Bangla, a supernatural horror comedy reuniting him with director Priyadarshan. It’s shaping up to be quite the comedy season for the Khiladi star!
