From Movies to Miley — Cody Simpson Gets Honest About Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid & His Most Famous Romances

Growing up in the spotlight means your love life plays out very publicly — and Cody Simpson knows this better than most. In a candid appearance on the We Need To Talk with Paul C. Brunson podcast, the Australian singer-swimmer reflected on three of his most high-profile relationships with warmth, honesty, and zero bitterness. Here’s the full breakdown.

Cody Simpson’s Famous Relationships at a Glance

Kylie Jenner — His First Real Girlfriend

It all started at the 2010 LA premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, where a teenage Cody crossed paths with a teenage Kylie. They swapped numbers, and what followed was about a year of young romance. Cody described the connection as a shared understanding of what it meant to grow up famous — bonding through uniquely similar situations most kids their age couldn’t imagine.

Gigi Hadid — His First Love

This one clearly meant the most. Cody described Gigi as his “first love” without hesitation. He even admitted he used a music video idea as a pretext to start talking to her — a very relatable move dressed up in celebrity packaging. Their relationship lasted roughly two years, on and off, and she even joined him on tour early into their romance. Before her chapter with Zayn Malik and her current relationship with Bradley Cooper, Cody was the one driving (barely legally, as he admitted) to pick her up for their first date.

Miley Cyrus — A Pandemic Love Story He’s Grateful For

Their ~10-month relationship during 2019–2020 was built on a shared understanding of what it means to be a teen pop star thrust into the adult world. Cody described it as something he’ll always carry gratitude for. Their split was a mutual decision — he was headed back to Australia to swim competitively, and she was deep into new music. No drama, no bitterness, just two people going in different directions at the right time.

What’s refreshing about all of this? Cody speaks about each woman with genuine appreciation. No shade, no score-settling — just a man who clearly grew a lot through every connection.
