Earlier Razer announced that it is bringing AMD-powered laptops to the play and also that the upcoming models will be the PI411. The laptop in question will reportedly sport an R9 5900HX + an RTX 3060 Graphics processor.
As we know, Razer has always been a loyal user of Intel, but the recently launched AMD’s Ryzen 5000H processors have caused quite an uproar in the market. and Razer cannot simply ignore the benefits which come from an AMD processor.
The OEM’s PI411 laptop recently made an appearance in the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark and is a slim and light 14-inch model. Though earlier we heard that the laptop will include the RTX 3060, however, a new 3DMark database entry for the same model number appears to feature a more powerful discrete GPU.
Twitter user _rogame recently discovered a new entry showing the Razer PI411 laptop sporting an R9 5900HX + RTX 3070 Max-Q discrete GPU configuration. Razer has advertised its 14-inch laptops to be one of the slimmest and lightest gaming models on the market, we are not sure how Razer is supposed to fit higher-TGP dGPU variants in these new AMD-powered models.
We expect the OEM to use a low-TGP RTX 3060, looking at that is the only viable option for its slim body. But, since the product has not been officially launched, it may be that the OEM might redesign its chassis and make the laptop a little thicker. By doing so, it may be able to accommodate the RTX 3070 Max-Q GPU.
