Dhurandhar 2 Is So Massive That Cinemas Just Invented a New Ticket Price Category For It

When a film is so anticipated that the entire theatre industry has to create a brand new pricing tier just to accommodate its demand — you know you’re dealing with something extraordinary. That’s exactly where Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge stands as of March 2026, with advance bookings officially opening on March 7 and a pricing model nobody has seen before.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge — Key Details

What Is the “Super Blockbuster Plus” Rate?

Here’s what makes this announcement genuinely remarkable. Typically, India’s national multiplex chains use two elevated pricing tiers for big releases — “Blockbuster” and “Super Blockbuster” rates, which are roughly 10–25% higher than standard ticket prices. These are reserved for the biggest tentpole films of the year.

For Dhurandhar 2, Jio Studios and national chains are introducing a third, entirely new tier — the Super Blockbuster Plus rate. This is unprecedented in recent Bollywood box office history and reflects both the film’s extraordinary anticipated demand and its near-four-hour runtime, which practically justifies premium pricing on logistical grounds alone.

Ticket sales are set to go live on March 7, immediately after the theatrical trailer launches — an aggressive and calculated strategy to funnel the trailer’s hype directly into booking momentum. Advance bookings will open on a provisional censor certificate while final certification is completed.

The Box Office Forecast Is Jaw-Dropping

Dhurandhar 2 already opened its overseas advances to a roaring start earlier this week. The domestic market is expected to be even larger. Industry forecasts currently place the opening day figure between Rs. 75 crore and Rs. 90 crore, with a pinpoint prediction of Rs. 85 crore — numbers that would place it among the biggest Bollywood opening days in history.

The film is also expected to face capacity issues across nearly all domestic markets, meaning theatres will simply not have enough seats to meet demand on day one. The multi-language release — spanning Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam — amplifies the pan-India footprint of what is shaping up to be a genuine event film.

This kind of box office trajectory reflects the evolving scale of Bollywood blockbusters in the mid-2020s, where major franchises are reshaping theatrical economics in real time.
