From VCHA to GIRLSET to Absolutely Unstoppable — “Tweak” Is the New Comeback Statement

If you’ve been following GIRLSET’s journey — from their VCHA days through the turbulence of lawsuits, departures, and a full rebrand — then you already know this group has earned every second of their current moment. And their brand-new single Tweak, released on March 6, 2026, feels less like a comeback and more like a declaration.

What Is “Tweak” — And Why Does It Hit So Hard?

Released on March 6 at 2 PM KST via JYP Entertainment, Tweak is GIRLSET’s third digital single and arguably their boldest statement yet. The track was inspired by Weak — the iconic 1993 R&B ballad by American group SWV — but instead of echoing its vulnerability, Tweak flips the script entirely. The message? “Don’t think that I’m weak.”

The production team behind Tweak is genuinely star-studded. JYP founder and head producer Park Jin Young co-produced the track alongside Grammy-winning producer Diego Ave — a collaboration that gives the song both its vintage authenticity and polished modern edge. Over an easygoing late 90s/early 2000s R&B melody, GIRLSET’s harmonious vocals carry the track’s core message with quiet confidence and real swagger.

The Story Behind the Group — Resilience Personified

GIRLSET isn’t just a K-pop girl group — they’re a story of survival. Originally debuting in January 2024 as VCHA, a six-member group formed through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records’ survival show A2K (America2Korea), the group faced a turbulent period when members KG and Kaylee departed in late 2024 and mid-2025 respectively.

Following a full rebrand, the four remaining members — Lexi, Camila, Kendall, and Savanna — relaunched as GIRLSET in August 2025 with debut single Commas, followed by Little Miss in November 2025 (which even got a remix featuring Missy Elliott in January 2026).

As K-pop companies bank on North American groups for global growth, GIRLSET rebranded to rebuild and compete — and they’re doing exactly that. Their group name itself says everything: GIRLSET means the members will set their own path without restrictions, realising their full potential.

With Tweak, they’ve taken that philosophy and put it to music — and it sounds exactly like what it is: four women who’ve been through it all and came out stronger on the other side.

The evolution of K-pop groups pushing into the global Western market is part of a wider cultural shift in how Korean pop music is expanding its reach — you can explore this phenomenon in detail on Wikipedia’s K-pop page.
