Naga Chaitanya Just Called Vrushakarma His Best Film — And After That Glimpse, We Believe Him

Naga Chaitanya has been in Telugu cinema long enough to know what a great script feels like. So when he says Vrushakarma will be the best film of his career — with zero hesitation — it’s worth sitting up and paying attention.

What Is Vrushakarma?

Vrushakarma is a large-scale mythical thriller directed by Karthik Varma Dandu, produced jointly by BVSN Prasad (Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra) and Sukumar under Sukumar Writings. The story itself is penned by Sukumar — a name that alone commands respect in Telugu cinema. The recently released glimpse shows Naga Chaitanya in a rugged, intense avatar, set against a world that blends mythology, horror, adventure, and heavy VFX.

It’s exactly the kind of film Telugu audiences have been hungry for.

Chay’s Own Words — The Excitement Is Real

Speaking at the glimpse launch event, Naga Chaitanya was visibly thrilled:

“I strongly feel this is going to be the best film of my career — 100 percent. I had this feeling even when I first heard the script. As an actor, I have always wanted to do a large-scale spectacle film with a mythical layer and heavy VFX. Vrushakarma is the answer to that wish.”

Director Karthik added that the glimpse only scratches the surface — the actual world and content of the film is far bigger than anything the teaser hinted at.

Why This Film Has Everyone Talking

Mythological thrillers rooted in Indian folklore have a rich history in Telugu cinema — think of how films like Baahubali redefined what South Indian filmmakers could do at scale. Vrushakarma appears to be aiming for that same ambitious territory, combining traditional mythology with modern genre filmmaking. Sparsh Shrivastava as the antagonist is an inspired casting call — his breakout performance in Laapataa Ladies showed how much depth he brings to every character, and a mythical villain role seems tailor-made for that intensity.
