We already know that Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, RTX 3070, RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards, all support the Resizable BAR feature, however, as of now only RTX 3060 officially supported the feature.
According to sources, some of the company’s AIBs are now releasing BIOS support for the rest of the cards. In the latest news, team green’s partners GALAX & Gainward have released BIOS for GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, RTX 3070, RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards.
But the procedure of installing the BIOS from a third party is a very risky measure. As most of the graphics cards don’t come with a dual-BIOS design it is a very risky process than tinkling with motherboard BIOS. If you accidentally lose power or your PC goes haywire during the process, then you can just as well say your graphics card goodbye.
One more piece of advice, while installing the BIOS on an unsupported graphics card, one must be prepared to throw away your card because only those models that are listed for support should be updated with the respective BIOS.
According to sources, NVIDIA & the rest of AIBs will be releasing the respective vBIOS for Founders Edition and various custom models by end of March or the upcoming Tuesday. EVGA on their Twitter handle has also stated that they will be releasing the BIOS for the GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards on Tuesday.
The vBIOS file within a DOS-built Firmware Updater checks if a firmware update is needed for your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics card and the warning is given that losing power will result in damage to the graphics card. many users have successfully managed to update their GeForce cards with custom BIOS.
