What Is Battle of Fates?

Battle of Fates is a spirit-possessed survival show where 49 fate masters gather to test their destinies through various missions. Sportskeeda Think of it as the most unconventional elimination show on television — instead of chefs or singers, the competitors are shamans, tarot masters, saju interpreters, and mudang practitioners who must prove their claimed spiritual expertise is real, verifiable, and competitive. Every round tests them against strangers, against each other, and against the clock. Fail your reading? Go home.

The show follows a survival elimination format where contestants failing their missions are removed as the show proceeds towards its finale, leaving behind one ultimate winner. Movie Insider

Phase Setup: The Family Trials

Before entering head-to-head duels, the remaining fate readers had to complete a family-centered reading challenge — determining which households among a group of married couples had more than one child. The Azure Dragon blue chamber, represented by Seolhwa, Lee Sobin, and Choi Hannah, secures survival in this family-centered trial, allowing six aspirants to advance beyond this stage. IMDb

Match 1 — Shindong Chooses His Fate Readers

The first high-profile duel of the Battle of Gods featured none other than Shindong from Super Junior as the reading subject. Shindong selects Seolhwa and Choi Hannah for his reading. Following an intense exchange of intuition, Seolhwa prevails and receives a standing ovation from the judging panel. IMDb Seolhwa — the self-proclaimed “God of East Asian Tarot” — advances to the finale. Choi Hannah is eliminated.

Match 2 — Dr. Lyuh Esther’s Duel

The second guest, Dr. Lyuh Esther, chooses Monad and Lee Sobin for her reading. Lee Sobin ultimately prevails IMDb in a closely contested duel, advancing to join Seolhwa in the finale. Monad is eliminated.

The Tie Nobody Could Resolve

The third match — between Manshin Kwon Sujina and Yoon Daeman — ends in something this show has never seen before: a dead tie. The result between Manshin Kwon Sujina and Yoon Daeman remains pending after their Battle of Fates match ended in a tie. IMDb How this gets resolved — and which of the two advances — becomes one of the major cliffhangers heading into the finale.

Heading Into the Finale (March 4)

Fans can watch the Battle of Fates finale, consisting of a single episode (Episode 10), on March 4 on Disney+. IMDb Seolhwa and Lee Sobin are confirmed finalists, with the tied match between Kwon Sujina and Yoon Daeman still hanging in the balance. The tension, the unresolved tie, and the spiritual showdown make it one of the most unmissable finales of 2026.
