Cars are becoming computers on wheels, and LG wants to be the company powering their brains. At MWC 2026 in Barcelona (March 2–5), LG Electronics will debut its next-generation integrated smart telematics solution — a single module that does what used to require multiple separate components, and eliminates the need for external antennas altogether.

LG Smart Telematics: What’s Inside

One Module to Replace Many — Here’s Why It Matters
The integrated module combines an antenna capable of receiving 5G, GPS, V2X, and satellite signals directly with the TCU responsible for processing and transmitting that data to the vehicle’s internal systems — previously two separate hardware components.
Consolidating these components reduces signal loss at physical connection points, improves assembly efficiency on the production line, and — critically — eliminates the need for traditional exterior shark-fin antennas, allowing for cleaner vehicle silhouettes.

LG has also partnered with Saint-Gobain Sekurit to develop transparent film-type antennas that integrate into vehicle glass without altering exterior design — a complementary play that makes the entire car body a connectivity surface.
This all feeds into LG’s larger bet on AI-defined vehicles (AIDVs), backed by its in-vehicle software suite LG AlphaWare, which ties the hardware together and positions LG as a full-stack automotive connectivity provider.
