DLSS isn’t supposed to work on AMD or Intel GPUs. DLSS Enabler makes it work anyway. Created by modder artur07305 and first released in January 2024, DLSS Enabler is a free DLL mod that simulates NVIDIA’s DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS 2) and Frame Generation (DLSS 3) in any DirectX 12 game that natively supports those features — on any DX12-compatible GPU, including AMD RDNA, Intel Arc, and older NVIDIA GTX cards.

DLSS Enabler: What It Does on Each GPU Type
Under the hood, it works by routing through AMD’s FSR 3.1 frame generation code and NVIDIA’s open-source Streamline framework, combined with a FakeNVAPI layer that emulates NVIDIA API calls on non-NVIDIA hardware.

Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1 — Download: Go to the DLSS Enabler page on Nexus Mods and download the latest stable 4.0.0.x unified DLL installer. For Tech Preview features (Multi Frame Generation, Dynamic Frame Generation), download separately — these are manual installs.
Step 2 — Find your game’s DX12 folder: Navigate to your game’s install directory. The target path typically looks like: Steam\steamapps\common\[Game Name]\bin\x64_dx12 — it must be the DX12 executable folder, not the default DX11 one.
Step 3 — Run the installer: For NVIDIA GPUs, use standard installation. For AMD or Intel GPUs, select “Experimental Support / AMD-Intel Support Kit” during setup.

Step 4 — AMD/Intel extra step: After installation, locate the DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks.reg file in the install folder and run it. This removes NVIDIA signature verification that would otherwise block the mod on non-NVIDIA hardware.
Step 5 — Force DX12 in Steam: Add -dx12 as a launch option for the game in Steam. DLSS Enabler only works in DirectX 12 mode.
Step 6 — Test in-game: Launch the game and enable DLSS in the graphics settings. Press the Insert key to open the OptiScaler overlay, where you can switch upscaler backend (DLSS / XeSS / FSR), enable Frame Generation, and toggle Hud Fix.
What to Expect: Honest Performance Notes
On AMD and Intel GPUs, DLSS Enabler doesn’t give you the actual NVIDIA neural network — it routes through XeSS or FSR2 under the DLSS label. Image quality will be cleaner than FSR native but not identical to true DLSS on RTX hardware. Frame Generation via FSR3 is a meaningful FPS boost in GPU-bound scenarios but adds input latency — lower base framerates amplify the visual artifacting, so a 60fps+ base is strongly recommended before enabling FG.
Multi Frame Generation (3×/4× frames) is currently a Tech Preview and unstable enough that the mod author advises against using it for casual gaming.

FAQs
Does DLSS Enabler work on AMD and Intel GPUs?
Yes — DLSS Enabler simulates DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation on any DirectX 12-compatible GPU including AMD RDNA and Intel Arc, by routing through XeSS/FSR2 for upscaling and FSR3 for frame generation.
Is DLSS Enabler safe to install and is it detectable by antivirus?
DLSS Enabler is safe and open-source on GitHub, but some antivirus software flags the installer as a false positive due to the DLL injection techniques it uses — adding it to your AV exclusion list resolves this.
