If you loved Gladiator or Bohemian Rhapsody, get ready — because two Oscar-winning powerhouses are teaming up in one of 2026’s most anticipated Netflix arrivals. Nuremberg, the psychological historical thriller starring Russell Crowe and Rami Malek, is officially making its streaming debut on Netflix US on March 7, 2026.

This isn’t your typical war courtroom drama. It’s a battle of minds — and it’s absolutely gripping.

What Is Nuremberg About?

Directed by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac), the film is based on the acclaimed non-fiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist by Jack El-Hai. Rather than focusing on the famous Nuremberg trials from the courtroom side, it dives into something far more unsettling — the psychological chess match happening behind bars.

Rami Malek plays Dr. Douglas Kelley, a U.S. Army psychiatrist tasked with evaluating Nazi high command prisoners to determine if they’re mentally fit for trial. His prime subject? Hermann Göring — played with chilling charisma by Russell Crowe. What unfolds is a high-stakes battle of intellect, manipulation, and moral reckoning.
