Power TV Show Netflix: Is Ghost Still Running the Streets on the Streamer?

If you’ve been searching for the Power TV show on Netflix and wondering why Ghost is nowhere to be found, here’s the full breakdown. One of the most addictive crime dramas to ever grace streaming — six seasons of Starz’s Power — had a complicated relationship with Netflix, and it’s a story worth knowing before you go hunting for it.

Power TV Show Netflix — Key Facts

What Is Power About?

Power follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a wealthy New York nightclub owner living a dangerous double life as a major drug kingpin. It’s slick, stylish, morally complex, and absolutely bingeable — the kind of show that ruins your sleep schedule in the best way.

The series aired from 2014 through 2020, producing 63 episodes over six seasons and spawning a universe of spin-offs including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force.

According to Wikipedia, Power became one of Starz’s highest-rated series and was renewed five times due to its massive fan following — a testament to how genuinely gripping the storytelling was.

Why Did Power Leave Netflix?

Netflix UK (along with Netflix South Africa, Turkey, and Lithuania) licensed Power from Starz/Lionsgate back in 2016, picking up seasons one through six over the years. By August 2023, that licensing agreement expired — and Netflix chose not to renew it.

The Power TV show was never available on Netflix in the US, where it has always lived exclusively on Starz and Hulu. The show’s spin-offs are also locked to Lionsgate+, with no Netflix deals in place.

There is, however, a silver lining. Power creator Courtney A. Kemp signed an exclusive development deal with Netflix back in 2021, which means a fresh, original Power-sized series from her could be heading to the streamer in the future.

Where Can You Watch Power Now?

In the US: Starz (streaming) and Hulu. All six seasons are accessible there. In other regions, availability varies, so checking a platform like JustWatch for your country is the best move.
