Times Prime Partners with Crunchyroll for Premium Anime Streaming

Times Prime, India’s leading lifestyle membership platform under the Times of India Group, announced a strategic partnership with Crunchyroll on February 17, 2026, expanding its entertainment offerings to include premium anime streaming. This collaboration adds Crunchyroll’s extensive anime library to Times Prime’s curated portfolio, providing members with an exclusive 2-month free trial when opting for an annual subscription.

The partnership addresses the surging popularity of anime in India, where the medium has evolved from niche interest into mainstream entertainment consumed by digitally native audiences nationwide.

Membership Benefits and Features

Times Prime members who opt for an annual Crunchyroll subscription receive access to an extensive library spanning action, fantasy, drama, romance, and slice-of-life genres. The service includes ad-free streaming, multiple language options with original Japanese audio plus subtitles and dubbed versions, and access to simulcasts of new episodes shortly after their Japanese broadcast.

India’s Growing Anime Market

According to Akshat Sahu, Vice President of GTM & Partnerships Marketing for APAC & MENA at Crunchyroll, “India continues to be one of the fastest-growing anime markets globally, with audiences increasingly embracing anime as part of their everyday entertainment. Through our collaboration with Times Prime, we’re making anime more accessible to a highly engaged and digitally savvy community.”

Crunchyroll has strengthened its India offering with over 900 anime titles, including more than 160 dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu—critical for reaching audiences beyond English-speaking metros. Fans can stream new episodes the same day they air in Japan, addressing a longstanding complaint about delayed international releases.

Strategic Value Proposition

Harshita Singh, Business Head at Times Prime, emphasized the personalization angle: “Today’s entertainment landscape is defined by personalisation, quality, and accessibility. Partnering with Crunchyroll allows us to meet the growing demand for anime among our members while enhancing the breadth and depth of our entertainment offerings.”

By integrating Crunchyroll into its ecosystem, Times Prime strengthens its value proposition while Crunchyroll gains access to a premium, engaged audience through a trusted platform. This exemplifies Times Prime’s approach of curating experiences that fit seamlessly into members’ lifestyles rather than simply aggregating discounts.

Times Prime offers premium access across entertainment, dining, travel, shopping, and wellness, including Ace by Times Prime—an exclusive offering for American Express Platinum Cardmembers delivering year-round value via complimentary subscriptions and curated experiences.
