Erling Haaland is reportedly favoring a move to Real Madrid when he eventually decides to leave Borussia Dortmund for a bigger European club, and Madrid are the biggest in the world. Reports coming out of Spain, in particular from Marca, state that Haaland prefers a move to the Bernabeu above all the other options.
Surprisingly, in all these years, Mino Raiola and Florentino Perez have not done a lot of business with each other, if at all. This deal could be the perfect opportunity for the two parallels to meet as Raiola is supposed to be open to the idea of brokering the transfer to Spain.
Whether or not the move will take place this summer depends on Dortmund’s situation at the end of the season. If they finish in a Champions League spot in the league, then Haaland would want to stay given that Marco Rose will be taking charge of the club the next season.
However, if they don’t, then Haaland will want to leave the club since Champions League football is a deal-breaker for the Norway international. And with very good reason.
Only a few clubs in the world, which include Chelsea, both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and PSG are capable of paying for the player, and the €75 million release clause must be paid in a single installment. This narrows down the number of destinations vastly, and a move to Madrid would surely see Haaland succeed Benzema as the rightful heir to his number 9 shirt.
