A Sacred Ceremony Rooted in Tradition

The Godh Bharai ceremony, as baby showers are traditionally known in Indian culture, was conducted with full Vedic rituals. Sonam and Anand performed pujas together, seeking blessings for their unborn child’s health and prosperity. According to Hindu traditions, the seventh or ninth month ceremony is considered auspicious for the mother and baby.

The couple, already parents to son Vayu (born August 2022), appeared radiant as they participated in the sacred rituals. Sonam’s choice of traditional attire reflected her deep connection to Indian heritage, something she’s consistently celebrated throughout her fashion journey.

Star-Studded Guest List

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, a close family friend, graced the occasion with his presence. The guest list was deliberately kept intimate, featuring primarily family members including Sonam’s parents Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor, along with the Ahuja family members.

The low-key nature of the celebration contrasts with typical Bollywood baby shower extravaganzas, reflecting Sonam and Anand’s preference for meaningful, private family moments over public spectacle.

Décor and Ambiance

The venue was adorned with fresh flowers, primarily marigolds and roses, creating a warm, traditional ambiance. The décor incorporated elements of Indian aesthetics—diyas, rangoli, and traditional seating arrangements—making it a visual celebration of cultural heritage.

Celebrity event planners note that such traditional setups are increasingly popular among modern couples who want to honor their roots while celebrating milestones.

Sonam’s Pregnancy Journey

Since announcing her second pregnancy, Sonam has been relatively private, sharing selective glimpses on social media. The actress, known for her candidness about motherhood, has previously discussed balancing career and parenting in various interviews.

The couple divides time between Mumbai and London, where Anand manages his fashion business. Their approach to parenting emphasizes privacy for their children while maintaining professional commitments.

What’s Next for the Kapoor-Ahuja Family?

With the baby’s arrival expected soon, fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement. Sonam has hinted at taking a brief work break to focus on her growing family before returning to Bollywood projects.

The baby shower marks another beautiful chapter in Sonam and Anand’s journey, blending tradition with contemporary values—a hallmark of their relationship since their 2018 wedding.
