Liverpool have lost six home games in succession in the Premier League, and should they lose a seventh, they will have entered the list of the top five clubs with the most defeats. Owing to that, here is the list of the top five clubs with the most home defeats in the Premier League.
5. Huddersfield Town: 7 defeats
The 18/19 season saw Huddersfield go crashing back down to the Championship after surviving the drop in 17/18. It wasn’t until November that the Terriers managed to win their first game in the Premier League that season. During that time they endured seven home defeats on the bounce.
4. Bolton Wanderers: 7 defeats
It all started going downhill for Bolton on the second last day of the 2010/11 season, and they didn’t win a home game until November of the 2011/12 season.
3. Derby County: 7 defeats
The Rams were promoted in 2006/07, but the following season cemented their position as the worst team in the history of the Premier League, finishing the season with 11 points, 1 win all season, 89 goals scored against and 29 defeats throughout the season. Amidst the set of unwanted records, they somehow managed to avoid the one for the most home defeats in succession.
2. Wolverhampton Wanderers: 9 defeats
Wolves today are nothing like what they once were, having been relegated in 2011/12 finishing last in the table. They won just once in their last 24 league games and set a new club record by going 30 matches without a clean sheet.
1. Sunderland: 10 defeats
The ending of the 2002/03 season saw Sunderland suffer 15 consecutive defeats, of which 8 came at the Stadium of Light. The losing streak carried over to the next season they were in the Premier League (2005/06), and they didn’t do too well that time either.
