Micromax In 1 vs Micromax IN Note 1: Are they almost the same?

Micromax, the Indian multinational electronics company, is trying to make a comeback into the competitive Indian smartphone market. The Indian brand was one of the biggest players in the early 2010s. But, the arrival of Chinese companies along with the 5G technology in 2016 disrupted their dominance. Today, we are going to compare two of their latest smartphone and see which one we prefer based on specifications. The two smartphones we are talking about are Micromax IN Note 1 and Micromax IN 1.

Display

Micromax In Note 1 and Micromax IN 1 both sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD display. Both have the same 20:9 aspect ratio and come with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Nothing to separate between the two devices.

Processor

Micromax In Note 1 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with 4 GB RAM and up to 128 GB internal storage. On the other hand, Micromax In 1 is powered by the Helio G80 SoC. It has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.

Camera

Micromax In Note 1 has a quad-camera set up at the back. It features a 48 MP primary sensor, a 5 MP wide-angle lens, and a couple of 2MP cameras. Micromax In 1 has a triple-camera module at the rear side with a 48 MP primary sensor, a 2 MP wide-angle lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor.

Talking about the front camera, Micromax In Note 1 offers a 16MP wide-angle snapper which is way better than the 8MP camera offered by Micromax In 1.

Battery and Fast Charging

Both the handsets draw energy from a 5,000mAh battery with an 18W fast-charging support. No real advantage in this aspect for any device.

Price

Micromax In Note 1 comes in two storage variants, which are listed below:

  • 4GB + 64GB – Rs 10,499
  •  4GB + 128GB – Rs 12,499

Micromax In 1 also arrives in two variants:

  • 4GB + 64GB – Rs 10,499 (Introductory price of Rs 9,999 on March 26th)
  • 6GB + 128GB – Rs 11,999

Conclusion

The display and battery specs of the two smartphones are the same. The difference comes in the camera and the processor domain. The processors are very similar in the two devices but performance-wise, In Note 1’s G85 SoC will edge out In 1’s G80 chipset. In terms of optics, In Note 1 is the clear winner with a higher quality front camera and a quad-camera setup at the back. The price band of the devices is also very similar but In 1 is almost Rs 1000 cheaper. Thus, it becomes tougher for customers to differentiate between the two devices. As the price difference is very small, we will go with Micromax In Note 1. Do your own analysis and see which smartphone suits you the best.
