Portuguese legend Luis Figo chose his top 6 footballers in the world currently. In a recent interview with Los Blancos Live, he spoke about his choices.
According to Luis Figo, the top 6 footballers in the world right now are:
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Lionel Messi
- Luka Modric
- Mohammed Salah
- Kylian Mbappe
- Neymar Jr
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are always obvious choices on the list. They are the first two choices on the list. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are arguably the greatest ever. However, they both have seen a dip in their form recently. But can still change the outcome of a game at any time.
Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is the only player to win Ballon D’or in Messi- Ronaldo era. He was also the Golden Ball winner in FIFA World Cup 2018.
The Portuguese also added Brazilian star Neymar to the list. Neymar is an instrumental member of his club Paris Saint-Germain as well. Some think that he is the best player on the planet in his top form after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Besides them, Figo added Liverpool star Mohammed Salah and French youngster Kylian Mbappe. Mohammed Salah is an instrumental part of Liverpool’s recent success. The Reds have won UEFA Champions League in 2018-19 season followed by the Premier League title last season after 30 years. Salah also helped his national side Egypt to qualify in the 2018 World Cup.
On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe is one of the assets of the future. The youngster has already proved his talent multiple times. He won the FIFA World Cup with his national side in 2018. He is also constant with his club as well. Some big clubs like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester United want him in their team as well.
This is a very acceptable list of players. However, some may question about the addition of Robert Lewandowski, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne though.
