The Harlan Coben Netflix Empire

With “Missing You” launching on New Year’s Day 2025, Caught becomes part of Netflix’s expanding thriller series catalog. Following successful international adaptations in French, Polish, and Spanish, this Argentine version proves Coben’s universal appeal transcends borders and languages.

The series joins an impressive 2025 lineup of Argentine productions on Netflix, including “División Palermo” season 2 and the highly anticipated sci-fi series “The Eternaut.” Fans of Netflix originals will find Caught a worthy addition to their watchlist.

Q2: Is Caught Netflix different from the original book?

A: Yes, while based on Harlan Coben’s 2010 novel “Caught,” the Netflix adaptation significantly reimagines the story. The original was set in New Jersey, but this version relocates the entire narrative to Argentina, specifically Buenos Aires and Bariloche in the Argentine Patagonia. The protagonist has been reimagined as Ema Garay, a digital journalist who exposes criminals, though the core mystery and thriller elements remain faithful to Coben’s signature storytelling style. This follows the pattern of other international Coben adaptations that successfully localize his stories while maintaining suspense.
