Wuthering Heights 2026: First Clip Unveils Margot Robbie & Jacob Elordi’s Intense Chemistry

Emerald Fennell’s bold reimagining of Emily Brontë’s classic novel has released its first official clip from Wuthering Heights, showcasing Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as Catherine and Heathcliff in a conversation that hints at the forbidden passion driving this Valentine’s Day 2026 release.

Wuthering Heights 2026:m Overview

First Clip Reveals Cathy-Heathcliff Dynamic

The newly released “Wishful Desires” clip features a conversation between Catherine (Robbie) and Heathcliff (Elordi), offering audiences their first extended look at the duo’s on-screen chemistry. While the brief footage doesn’t showcase the full visual splendor promised by the trailers, it establishes the intense emotional connection central to Emily Brontë’s 1847 masterpiece.

Behind-the-Scenes Codependency

Robbie revealed to Fandango that she developed an immediate connection with Elordi on set, describing their relationship as “codependent quite quickly.” The Barbie star admitted feeling “unnerved and unmoored” when Elordi wasn’t within eyeshot during filming—a testament to the immersive nature of their performances.

Jealousy on Set: In a candid Vogue Australia interview, Robbie confessed to feeling jealous when Elordi filmed scenes with co-stars Shazad Latif and Alison Oliver without her, exclaiming “He’s mine!” This intensity mirrors the possessive love between Catherine and Heathcliff in Brontë’s gothic romance.

Fennell’s Vision & Controversy

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, Saltburn) deliberately stylizes the title with quotation marks, acknowledging her adaptation as a “version” rather than a literal translation. The casting of white Australian actor Jacob Elordi as the racially ambiguous Heathcliff sparked controversy, though Fennell defended her choice based on childhood book illustrations.
