The man whose name is on the lips of every football fan across the globe, Erling Haaland is being linked with a transfer to every big club in Europe. The Norwegian has a release clause worth €75 million that kicks in starting from 2022, and it is likely that every club that will be able to pay that fee will be in the race for the striker.

According to ESPN, the Borussia Dortmund star wants to play in every one of Europe’s top five leagues. He has already made his mark in the German Bundesliga, and broke through in the Austrian Bundesliga with RB Salzburg before sealing the move to the Westfalenstadion.

Clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona are all reportedly interested in joining the race for the player. It is well worth noting that no advancements have been reached in talks between any clubs, and that potential suitors are simply exploring the situation.

Haaland’s situation is also dictated by Dortmund’s ability to secure Champions League football at the end of the season. A talent like the 20-year-old will want to, and deserves to compete at the highest level. Hence, Dortmund might have to accept bids for the player this summer which have no relation to the release clause if they fail to finish in the top four.

The player is understood to be very happy with Dortmund, and was awarded the man of the match trophy in both of Dortmund’s Champions League matches against Sevilla where he became the youngest player to score 20 Champions League goals in the second leg.
