In a rather surprising piece of news coming out of France, Mauricio Pochettino is planning a summer move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea this summer.
The original news report by Alan Nixon of the Sun reads as follows:
‘Poch has been linked with his old Spurs and France international keeper Hugo Lloris for some time but De Gea has been on PSG’s radar just as long.
‘However, the Spain keeper, who has two years left on his United deal, has been unavailable in the past.
‘PSG are one of the few clubs around who could pick up De Gea’s £375,000-a-week wages AND offer a fee to interest Man Utd.’
While it is true that Paris can afford the signing of David De Gea from Manchester United, the image of seeing the Spaniard move to the French capital still remains a far fetched idea.
The Manchester United number 1 has been prone to making errors recently, and with the emergence of Dean Henderson as one of the most promising young English shot-stoppers, it could be only a matter of time before the youngster succeeds De Gea as the undisputed number 1 at the Old Trafford.Â
However, being contracted to United for a salary worth £375,000 till 2023, this summer or the one after this season could be the one where Manchester United must make a decision regarding the player’s future to avoid risking his departure as a free agent.
