The Leading Stars
Gong Yoo as Han Jeong Won
The cast of The Trunk is led by the incomparable Gong Yoo, who portrays music producer Han Jeong Won. International audiences fell in love with him as the mysterious salesman in Squid Game, but his career spans decades of critically acclaimed performances. From the heart-pounding action of Train to Busan to the fantasy romance of Goblin and Netflix’s sci-fi thriller The Silent Sea, Gong Yoo consistently delivers memorable characters.
In The Trunk, he plays a cynical producer who believes all marriages are fundamentally deceitful—an intriguing perspective that sets up compelling drama.
Seo Hyun Jin as Noh In Ji
Equally impressive is Seo Hyun Jin, playing Noh In Ji, the pragmatic head of a fixed-term marriage agency called NM. Despite orchestrating dream marriages for clients, she firmly prefers staying single herself. This fascinating contradiction makes her character one of the most intriguing in recent K-drama history.
Netflix viewers know Seo Hyun Jin from Record of Youth and You Are My Spring, but she’s also celebrated for roles in Another Miss Oh and Dr. Romantic. Her ability to blend vulnerability with strength makes her perfect for this complex role.
What Makes This Cast Special?
The chemistry between these two powerhouse performers elevates The Trunk beyond typical romantic fare. Both characters challenge conventional views on marriage and relationships, creating tension that’s intellectual and emotional. Watch the official trailer on Netflix to see their dynamic in action.
The Story Behind the Stars
The Trunk revolves around NM, an agency that provides fixed-term marriages to clients seeking temporary spouses. When the skeptical Han Jeong Won crosses paths with the marriage-averse Noh In Ji, their worlds collide in unexpected ways. The supporting cast, including Jung Yun Ha and Kim Dong Won, adds depth to this unconventional narrative.
