Taxi Driver 3 Episodes 9-10: Do-gi Goes Undercover as K-Pop Manager in Explosive Arc

Taxi Driver 3 just delivered its most explosive storyline yet, tackling the dark underbelly of the K-pop industry in episodes 9 and 10. Lee Je-hoon’s Kim Do-gi trades his taxi for a manager’s clipboard, infiltrating a corrupt idol training company to expose exploitation that hits uncomfortably close to real-world issues. Here’s everything that happened in this gripping two-episode arc.

Taxi Driver 3 Overview

How It All Started: The Han River Rescue

Episode 9 opens with Do-gi working his regular taxi shift when trainee Romi hails his cab. As Girls’ Generation’s “Genie” plays on the radio, she confesses the song makes her feel like she’s on stage. Do-gi drops her at the Han River bridge—but something feels wrong.

After making a U-turn, he discovers her shoes on the sidewalk. Realizing she’s attempted suicide, Do-gi jumps into the river and rescues her just in time, rushing her to the hospital and saving her life.

From Romi’s suicide note, the Rainbow Taxi team learns she’s a trainee at Yellow Star Company, set to debut with the girl group Elements. She’s been falsely accused of something that threatens to ruin the group’s debut, driving her to this desperate decision.

The Corruption Unveiled

As Romi recovers, the Rainbow Taxi team launches their investigation. The truth proves even darker than expected—Romi has been trapped in a web of sexual bribery and blackmail orchestrated by Yellow Star’s management.

The general manager created an incriminating video to blackmail Romi, forcing her into providing sexual favors to corporate sponsors. When she refused to comply, they threatened to cancel Elements’ debut and destroy her dreams.

Do-gi’s Dramatic Intervention: When the manager attempts to force Romi into another compromising situation, Do-gi arrives in the Rainbow Taxi and deliberately crashes into him. The impact hospitalizes the manager, allowing Do-gi to rescue Romi and bring her to safety.

Going Undercover at Yellow Star

Disguised as prosecutors, the Rainbow Taxi team searches CEO Kang Joo-ri’s office and discovers the full scope of the exploitation. With the manager hospitalized, Do-gi seizes the opportunity to take over his position, infiltrating Yellow Star from within.

As the new manager overseeing Elements’ remaining trainees, Do-gi walks a delicate balance. While genuinely bonding with the young hopefuls and understanding their dreams, he secretly searches through CEO Kang’s belongings and laptop for evidence of the systematic abuse.

The CEO’s Dark Past: Jang Na-ra delivers a chilling performance as CEO Kang Joo-ri, a former idol whose career ended after an accident required leg amputation. Now wearing a prosthetic, she’s become the very monster she might once have fought against, forcing trainees into sexual arrangements with elite sponsors under the guise of “training.”

The Debut Deception

As Elements’ debut approaches, Yellow Star plans to proceed without Romi despite the other members’ protests. Do-gi uncovers the horrifying truth: the debut isn’t really about music—it’s a showcase for financial backers and VIP sponsors who’ve paid for access to the trainees.

Do-gi’s Unexpected Stage Moment: In episode 10’s most shocking scene, when member Jian collapses right before the debut performance, Do-gi does the unthinkable—he steps in as a substitute and flawlessly performs the choreography on stage. Lee Je-hoon’s commitment to this unexpected “idol debut” stunned viewers and became instant K-drama legend material.

This bold move earns CEO Kang’s trust, allowing Do-gi to fully expose her operation. The so-called “training program” is revealed as grooming for elite sponsors, with the debut merely a transactional performance for wealthy backers.

Rainbow Heroes Strike Back

With evidence secured and trust established, the Rainbow Taxi team executes their signature takedown. They systematically dismantle the operation:

• Overpowering CEO Kang’s enforcers
• Exposing VIP sponsors publicly
• Broadcasting the truth live on air
• Confronting the music show PD who enabled the arrangement

The Climactic Confrontation: The finale takes place on a rooftop as CEO Kang attempts to escape. Do-gi deploys a swarm of drones that trigger memories of her career-ending accident. Disturbed and cornered, she steps backward toward the edge.

Do-gi grabs her bag to save her, but as police sirens approach, CEO Kang realizes escape is impossible. In a final act of resignation, she releases the bag and falls to her death—poetic justice meeting tragic reality.

A Happy Ending for Elements

The episode closes with heartwarming resolution. Do-gi returns Romi to her fellow Elements members at their dorm. As the group’s leader, she tearfully thanks him and joyfully reunites with her teammates.

Days later, the Rainbow Taxi team gathers for a meal and watches Elements perform on TV—this time with Romi back in the lineup where she belongs. The team admits they’ve become fans and even joined the official fan club to support the girls’ legitimate careers.

Why This Arc Matters

These episodes resonated powerfully because they tackle real issues plaguing the K-pop industry: exploitation of young trainees, sexual harassment under industry power dynamics, and the crushing pressure to succeed at any cost.

Taxi Driver 3 continues to draw from real-world criminal cases, and this storyline hits uncomfortably close to documented abuses in entertainment training systems. The show’s willingness to expose institutional corruption while delivering satisfying justice makes it appointment television.

With ratings peaking at 15.4% and maintaining the #1 spot across all networks for four consecutive weeks, Taxi Driver 3 proves the vigilante justice format still captivates audiences when executed with intelligence and heart.
