Become the Unbreakable Lifeline: Your Ultimate Cleric Build Guide for Ashes of Creation

Want to be the hero your party desperately needs? The Cleric in Ashes of Creation isn’t just about tossing heals—it’s about mastering the perfect balance between keeping your team alive and dishing out radiant punishment to anyone who dares threaten them. Whether you’re diving into dungeons or dominating PvP battlegrounds, this guide breaks down everything you need to become an unstoppable healing powerhouse.

Ashes of Creation: Core Stats Priority Table

Essential Skills: PvE vs PvP Breakdown

For PvE Content: Focus on sustained healing output with abilities like Divine Flare for AoE radiant damage and Consecrating Wave for group heals. Your rotation should include Deliverance as your primary single-target heal, charged to maximum effectiveness during downtime. Cleansing Wave becomes crucial for bouncing heals between multiple allies during intense boss encounters.

For PvP Combat: Survivability trumps everything. Barrier sacrifices 25% of your health to grant temporary shields to allies—perfect for clutch saves during ganks. Chains of Restraint roots weakened enemies, buying your team precious seconds. Bless Weapon empowers allies with radiant damage, turning the tide in small-scale skirmishes.

Pro tip: Clerics manage a unique third resource called Divine Power alongside health and mana. Learning when to spend this resource separates average healers from legends. Check out our Ashes of Creation resource management guide for advanced tips.

Weapon Choices That Matter

Your weapon setup dramatically changes your playstyle. For maximum healing output, grab a two-handed Spell Sword—the Magical Power boost enhances both heals and radiant damage, making it ideal for PvE content.

Need better mana management for extended PvP fights? Run a Mace main-hand with a Focus off-hand. You’ll trade raw power for superior casting speed, perfect for keeping allies alive during prolonged sieges. According to the official Ashes of Creation archetype page, Clerics can wield multiple weapon types to adapt to different scenarios.

Leveling Strategy: Solo and Group

Here’s the truth: Clerics aren’t speed demons when soloing, but they’re nearly unkillable with smart play. Prioritize Escape Velocity in your skill tree early—this mobility skill lets you kite enemies during cooldowns, turning tough fights into manageable ones.

In group content, you’ll shine brightest. The combination of strong AoE damage through Divine Flare and consistent healing output makes you indispensable. For comprehensive leveling strategies across all classes, visit our Ashes of Creation leveling hub.

Secondary Archetype Considerations

At level 25, you’ll unlock a secondary archetype that transforms your playstyle into one of 64 possible class combinations. Pairing Cleric with Fighter creates a Templar—a hybrid that blends healing with melee prowess. Choose Mage as secondary for an Oracle build that amplifies your magical capabilities.

Gear and Enchantment Tips

Don’t sleep on Constitution even in PvE builds—that extra health and mitigation keeps you alive when enemies inevitably target the healer. Use tattoos, enchantments, and socketed items to fine-tune stats based on your chosen content.

For PvP-focused Clerics, stack Constitution first to survive burst damage, then layer in Intelligence and Mentality for offensive pressure. Explore more gear optimization strategies in our Ashes of Creation gear guide.
