PUBG Mobile eSports disqualifies nine teams from various regions

After four teams being disqualified last week, PUBG Mobile Experts announced that nine more teams have been disqualified from the PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) 2021 Spring Split.

Teams from Bangladesh– ARS Sinisters and CNC GenocideX were disqualified for using third party softwares. Teams from the Pakistan region– FYME ESPORT and KODXROG were disqualified because of participation from more than one region and for not meeting the residential requirements, respectively.

The Wildcard South Asia region saw the maximum number of teams being disqualified for not fulfilling the residential requirement, including The Smokers who were a fan favourite on Day 4. The other four teams were The Rusher, MPGXEsports, KOF97, and K9999.

Earlier, PUBG Mobile Esports had banned 7 teams and two individual players for using third-party applications and using different identifications.

None of these teams will be replaced in their respective PMCOs. The competition will continue with fewer teams.

At the moment, the group stages of the PMCO 2021 are going on for the different regions. There are 32 teams competing from each region. The top teams from the PMCOs will qualify for the Pro Leagues (PMPL). The group stages are scheduled to end tomorrow with the top 16 squads advancing to the regional finals.

A statement issued by PUBG eSports read, “In our regular investigation to fight cheaters and provide fair competition in our official tournaments, players in the following teams were found to be using prohibited third-party software. As this is a clear violation of our code of conduct, the teams have been disqualified from the tournament. The teams will not be replaced, and the PMCO will continue as planned with the remaining teams.”

Tencent has considerably expanded PUBG Mobile’s esports ecosystem this year. It has a total prize pool of $14 million. Several new Pro League and Club Opens will also be added. At the end of the year, the Global Championship will take place to crown a world champion.
