The Leading Lady: Halle Bailey as Anna

Halle Bailey stars as Anna, an aspiring chef who’s drifted away from her dreams and makes the impulsive decision to squat in an abandoned Tuscan villa. The 24-year-old multi-talented artist first gained recognition as one-half of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle before transitioning to acting.

Her breakout film role as Ariel in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid proved she could carry a major studio tentpole. Bailey told People she was immediately captivated by Anna’s character arc, particularly “her vision and passion that she has and the wants and goals for herself”. The Romantic Lead: Regé-Jean Page as Michael

Regé-Jean Page plays Michael, cousin of the Tuscan homeowner, who becomes entangled in Anna’s chaotic adventure. The British actor became a global sensation after his Emmy-nominated performance as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton’s first season.

Page revealed his decision to join the film came after producer Will Packer texted him simply: “Tuscany in the summer” with a question mark. His response? An immediate yes. Since leaving Bridgerton, Page has successfully transitioned to blockbuster films including The Gray Man and Honor Among Thieves.

The Charming Italian: Lorenzo de Moor as Matteo

Lorenzo de Moor portrays Matteo, the handsome Italian stranger whose villa becomes central to the plot. This Dutch-Italian actor actually grew up in Tuscany before training at the prestigious Stella Adler Academy in New York, making him perfectly suited for this role.

De Moor’s recent work includes Netflix’s Brigands: The Quest for Gold and Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints. His authentic Italian roots and bilingual abilities add genuine flavor to the production.

The Supporting Cast That Completes the Picture

Isabella Ferrari brings Italian cinema gravitas as Gabriella, Matteo’s mother who unexpectedly arrives at the villa, forcing Anna into an elaborate lie about being Matteo’s fiancée.

Aziza Scott plays Claire, Anna’s brutally honest best friend who warns her against the impulsive Italian adventure. Scott is known for her work on Apple TV+’s Home Before Dark.

Nia Vardalos, the Oscar-nominated writer and star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, appears as Mrs. Dunn, Anna’s house-sitting client.

Behind the Camera

Director Kat Coiro (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Marry Me) helms the project from a screenplay by Ryan Engle. Producer Will Packer, known for box office hits like Girls Trip and Ride Along, brings his signature touch to this romantic comedy.

What Makes This Cast Chemistry Special

Bailey and Page first met at the Met Gala after already being cast in the film—talk about a cinematic meet-cute! Page praised Bailey’s natural charisma, noting “the moment you meet her, you want nothing but good things for her, so there is no better vessel for that journey”.

The film was shot on location in Tuscany during summer 2025, lending authentic Italian atmosphere to every sun-soaked frame. For behind-the-scenes updates on major film productions, visit our movie news section.
