Understanding Security Breach: The Skill That Opens Doors

Security Breach is a late-game skill in Arc Raiders that belongs to the Survival skill tree branch. This essential ability allows players to unlock Security Lockers—special high-value containers scattered throughout the game’s maps. Without this skill equipped, these lockers remain frustratingly sealed, leaving potentially game-changing loot just out of reach.

The skill requires players to invest 36 skill points in the Survival tree first, which can take quite some time, making it one of the most commitment-heavy abilities in the game. Many players find this requirement controversial since it forces them down a specific progression path regardless of their preferred playstyle.

What’s Inside Security Lockers?

The grind to unlock Security Breach pays off with access to premium rewards that casual looting simply can’t match. Security Lockers contain rare materials and crafting components, weapon blueprints and upgrade schematics, and high-tier blue and purple items.

These containers are strategically placed in high-risk, high-reward locations like the Hydroponic Dome Complex, Testing Annex, Library, City Hall, and various Dam facilities. The loot inside can significantly accelerate your workshop upgrades and give you an edge against both AI enemies and other players competing for extraction.

How to Unlock Security Breach: Step-by-Step Guide

Ready to start cracking those lockers? Follow these steps to unlock the Security Breach skill:

Step 1: Access Your Raider Menu From the main game screen, press RB (Xbox) or R1 (PlayStation) to navigate to the Raider section.

Step 2: Open the Skill Tree Click on the leftmost icon underneath your character to access the Skill Tree, which includes Conditioning, Mobility, and Survival branches with about 50 different skills.

Step 3: Progress Through Survival Tree Navigate to the Survival branch and work your way toward the Security Breach node located near the end of the tree.

Step 4: Invest 36 Skill Points You’ll need to spend points on prerequisite skills before reaching Security Breach. Since you earn one skill point per level, reaching level 36 is the minimum requirement.

Step 5: Activate and Use Once unlocked, approach any Security Locker and interact with it to access the contents inside.

Leveling Up Faster: XP Optimization Tips

The 36-point investment seems daunting, but smart XP farming can speed up the process considerably. To level up faster, search every single container, safe, drawer, shelf, and fallen Arc along the way to gain 200-300 XP, which quickly accumulates at the end of a run even if you fail to extract.

Eliminating Arc enemies also provides substantial XP rewards, particularly larger targets like Queens, Bombardiers, and Bastion Husks. The key is consistent looting and combat engagement, regardless of whether you successfully extract.

Is Security Breach Worth the Investment?

This remains a hot debate in the Arc Raiders community. Some players appreciate the exclusive access to premium loot, while others feel frustrated that valuable resources are locked behind such a steep skill point investment. Players who prefer conditioning or mobility-focused builds may find the 36-point detour particularly painful.

However, for endgame players hunting the toughest Arc enemies and competing in high-stakes extraction scenarios, the upgraded gear and blueprints from Security Lockers can provide meaningful advantages that justify the grind.
