Don’t underestimate this adorable Gen V Pokemon! While Audino might not top competitive tier lists in Pokemon Legends Z-A, its unique support capabilities and Mega Evolution into a Normal/Fairy-type make it an invaluable team player for your Lumiose City adventure. Let’s optimize this healing champion.

Why Audino Deserves a Spot on Your Team

Audino excels as a special attacker with incredible support utility. After Mega Evolution, it gains Fairy typing, opening new strategic possibilities while maintaining its healing prowess. Perfect for players who value sustainability over raw offense, Audino keeps your team battle-ready during extended encounters.

Best Audino Moveset for Optimal Performance

Move	Type	Category	Key Benefit
Calm Mind	Psychic	Status	+SpAtk & +SpDef buff
Draining Kiss	Fairy	Special	STAB damage + healing
Wish	Normal	Status	HP recovery support
Fire Blast	Fire	Special	Steel-type coverage

Strategic Move Breakdown

Calm Mind transforms Audino into a formidable tank. Each use boosts Special Attack and Special Defense, allowing it to hit harder while becoming increasingly difficult to knock out. Stack this 2-3 times, and you’ll notice the difference immediately.

Draining Kiss becomes your primary STAB attack post-Mega Evolution. This Fairy-type move deals respectable damage while healing Audino simultaneously—perfect for maintaining longevity in tough battles without constantly using items.

Wish provides unmatched team support. Time this recovery move correctly, and you’ll keep your entire roster healthy without burning through Potions. It’s particularly valuable during Legendary battles where every HP point matters.

Fire Blast solves Audino’s Steel-type problem. Since Steel Pokemon resist both Normal and Fairy attacks, this high-powered Fire move ensures you’re never completely walled. For more team synergy tips, explore our Pokemon Legends Z-A type coverage guide.

Optimal Nature Selection

Bold nature (+Defense, -Attack) or Calm nature (+Special Defense, -Attack) are your best choices. Since Audino runs purely special attacks, sacrificing Attack for defensive stats is a no-brainer.

Both nature mints are available from vendors in Rogue Sector 1, making it easy to optimize your Audino regardless of what nature you caught.

Audino Stats & Mega Evolution Comparison

Defense	70	88	+18
Special Attack	115	140	+25
Special Defense	70	70	–

Mega Evolution significantly enhances Audino’s offensive and defensive capabilities. The +25 Special Attack boost makes Calm Mind stacking even more devastating, while the Speed increase helps it outpace mid-tier threats.

Pro Training Tips

EV Distribution: Prioritize Special Attack and HP for maximum effectiveness. Special Defense investment helps if you’re using Calm nature.

Battle Strategy: Open with Calm Mind, stack buffs 2-3 times, then sweep with Draining Kiss while using Wish strategically. Fire Blast should be reserved for Steel-types only.

Team Composition: Pair Audino with physical attackers who benefit from its Wish support, creating a balanced offensive-defensive core.

FAQs

Is Mega Audino worth the 180 Mega Shards investment?

For support-focused teams, absolutely! The stat boosts—especially +25 Special Attack and +22 Speed—transform Audino from a decent support Pokemon into a legitimate threat. The added Fairy typing also provides crucial Dragon immunity and Fighting resistance, making it versatile for various team compositions.

What’s the best way to use Wish effectively in battles?

Use Wish strategically when you anticipate needing healing on your next turn. Since Wish activates the turn after you use it, predict when Audino or a teammate will take damage. Switch out after using Wish to heal incoming Pokemon, or keep Audino in if it needs the recovery itself.
