Frank Lampard’s sacking from his position of Head Coach at Chelsea was a rather unusual one in the fact that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was himself quoted on the Blues Legend’s parting address.
Moreover, people around and close to the club were quoted saying that the decision to part ways with a figure of the stature of Lampard was indeed a very difficult one for the Russian.
Speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio further commented that big players at the club (Thiago Silva being one of them) had told Lampard that he will go on to be a great manager in the future, and that he was in the right line.
Thomas Tuchel, the man to replace Frank Lampard, was reportedly on great terms with all his players at Paris, but disagreed heavily with Sporting Director Leonardo regarding the transfers at the club.
Tuchel was relieved of his duties as PSG boss around Christmas. His agents have since been on Chelsea’s case, offering the German to the club as they were aware of the situation at Stamford Bridge.
Max Allegri was one of the other names linked with the Chelsea job. But, according to the Italian duo, the former Juventus boss was never close to the job and that it was a one-horse race throughout, with Tuchel being the only competitor in the race for the position.
