Sydney’s Response	Grammar correction: “‘You’re’** & ‘Their’*******. Can’t be a hater when you use incorrect grammar”

Before the Chargers faced the Indianapolis Colts, Sydney showed off her game-day look on Instagram wearing her husband’s No. 15 jersey paired with light blue jeans. What should have been a lighthearted pregame post quickly took an unexpected turn when a critic tried to rain on her parade.

The Grammar Lesson Heard Around the NFL

The troll’s comment contained not one, but two glaring grammar errors—confusing “your” with “you’re” and “there” with “their.” Sydney wasn’t about to let that slide. She reposted the message on her Instagram story and delivered a masterclass in how to handle online negativity.

“‘You’re’**** & ‘Their’*********. Can’t be a hater when you use incorrect grammar,” Sydney wrote, adding emphatic asterisks to drive her point home.

The response has resonated with NFL fans and grammar enthusiasts alike, proving that sometimes the best comebacks don’t need profanity or aggression—just a red pen and confidence. For more on how NFL WAGs are making their mark on social media, check out our NFL WAGs trending moments feature.

Ladd McConkey’s Impressive Rookie Campaign

While critics may doubt the Chargers, the numbers tell a different story—especially when it comes to Ladd McConkey’s performance. The second-round pick finished his 2024 rookie season with 82 receptions for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns, setting Chargers rookie franchise records.

In that specific Colts game, Ladd posted four catches for 40 yards despite the 38-24 loss, keeping the Chargers at a respectable 4-3 record early in the season. His chemistry with quarterback Justin Herbert has been undeniable, making him a reliable target on crucial third-down situations.

Sydney’s Game-Day Fashion Wins Support

Beyond the viral clapback, Sydney’s game-day fashion has been earning praise from fellow NFL WAGs and fans. Omarion Hampton’s girlfriend, Lilly Heder, commented “Stunning OFC” on one of Sydney’s outfits ahead of LA’s Week 5 matchup.

Her Week 3 look particularly caught Ladd’s attention when she wore a blue off-shoulder top styled around his No. 15 jersey with white jeans and silver hoops. The wide receiver dropped a simple yet telling two-word comment: “My weakness.”

The High School Sweethearts’ Journey

Ladd and Sydney’s relationship started long before the bright lights of the NFL. The couple began dating in high school and maintained their bond through Ladd’s championship-winning years at the University of Georgia. They got engaged on July 6, 2024, and married on April 12, cementing their status as one of the NFL’s newest power couples.

Their authentic connection shines through on social media, where Sydney frequently shares glimpses of her fitness routine, game-day preparations, and support for her husband’s professional journey.

Why This Moment Matters

Sydney’s response represents more than just a clever comeback—it’s a reminder that NFL families deserve respect and that criticism should at least be grammatically correct. In an era where athletes and their loved ones face constant scrutiny on social media, Sydney’s witty defense sets a standard for how to handle negativity with grace and humor.

The Chargers may have their critics, but Ladd’s impressive rookie season that ranked 10th overall in the NFL for receiving yards speaks volumes about the team’s potential and his individual talent.
