The bad run continues for Liverpool. Liverpool lost at Anfield for the first time since April, 2017 in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s men were defeated by Burnley by 1-0.

Jurgen Klopp has made some changes in the team after the draw against the rival Manchester United. Divock Origi got his first Premier League to start this season last night. But he missed an open net.

In the 83rd minute, Burnley got a penalty and Ashley Barnes tucked that home without any mistake.

Liverpool tried to get back in the game and registered 27 shots in the game but failed to beat Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. Burnley defender Ben Mee also had an excellent game last night.

Liverpool has faced difficulties in scoring goals in the last few games. They failed to score in the last 4 games and a total of 438 minutes without a goal. This is the first time in 21 years they have gone four league games without a goal. They are 4th in the table with 34 points. They are now 6 points behind the league leaders Manchester United.

After the match Jurgen Klopp took the responsiblity of the loss. He said, “We lost the game which is pretty impossible but we did it.”

“That is my fault. It is my job to make sure the boys have the right feelings and confidence. That didn’t work out.”

“We had the ball a lot and created some situations that are OK but our final decision is not right. I said the same thing last week. When something doesn’t work you must try harder, longer and more often and make better decisions. It didn’t work tonight.”
