Carl Pei cofounded OnePlus, along with Pete Lau, in 2013. He is also the former director of OnePlus Global. He left OnePlus in October 2020. The main objective behind this exit was to start his own venture. Two months after leaving the company, in 2020, Carl Pei announced that his new venture has raised around $7 million.
Not much is known about Carl Pei’s new startup. What we only know is that it will deal with audio-related products. Apart from this, we don’t know what portfolio of products it has, and how will the company looking to expand and add more products. The fund raised by his new venture was mostly from his family and friends. The list includes Casey Nesitat, Kevin Lin who co-founded Twitch, the inventor iPod Tony Fadell, Steve Huffman of Reddit, and the CEO of Product Hunt; Josh Buckley.
The former OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, tweeted that he will be unveiling his new brand on January 27th. Thus, in just seven days, we might get to know more about his ambitions.
