Activision has confirmed that while most Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 content won’t transfer to Black Ops 7, a select few items will carry forward, including specific Zombies operator skins and the Guild Override camo for pre-order players.

Black Ops 7 Carry Forward: What’s Included

After initially announcing full carry forward support then canceling it, Activision clarified which limited items will actually transfer between games.

Items That Transfer to Black Ops 7

Item Type	Details	Requirements
Zombies Operator Skins	4 main quest operator skin rewards	Complete Black Ops 6 Zombies main quests
New Orders Skin	Prestige Level 1000 operator skin	Reach maximum prestige in Black Ops 6
Guild Override Camo	Weapon skin	Pre-order Black Ops 7
Double XP Tokens	Experience boosters	Earned in Black Ops 6
GobbleGums	Zombies power-ups	Collected in Black Ops 6 Zombies

What Won’t Carry Forward

Most purchased content from Black Ops 6 will remain locked to that game, including:

Battle Pass operators and skins
Store-bought cosmetics
Most weapon blueprints
Multiplayer operator skins

Activision’s Authenticity Focus

Activision cited authenticity concerns when canceling the broader carry forward program, stating “Black Ops 7 needs to feel authentic to Call of Duty and its setting.” This likely addresses community criticism about increasingly outlandish cosmetics disrupting the game’s military aesthetic.

Warzone Exception

While Black Ops 6 content won’t transfer to Black Ops 7, all items will continue carrying forward to Call of Duty: Warzone as previously established.

Community Impact

The limited carry forward represents a significant shift from recent Call of Duty practices. Players who invested heavily in Black Ops 6 cosmetics may feel frustrated that premium purchases won’t transfer to the new game.

The decision particularly affects collectors who spent money on operator bundles and weapon blueprints expecting them to carry forward as initially promised.

Black Ops 7 Launch Details

Black Ops 7 launches November 14, 2025, with an open multiplayer beta scheduled for early October. The game returns to the series’ roots with a focus on authentic military presentation.

This represents Activision’s attempt to balance player investment retention with maintaining franchise authenticity after years of increasingly fantastical cosmetic content.
