Manchester United have recently been rumoured with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos regarding a potential free transfer when, or rather, if his deal at the Spanish capital expires.
However, speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano squashed rumours linking the Red Devils to a potential swoop for the Spaniard despite their need for a reliable centre back partner alongside Harry Maguire. The player has not received any call from Manchester United and still prioritises a stay at the Bernabeu above all.
Francesco Porzio, the host of the Here We Go podcast, commented that Manchester United were looking for a younger centre-back who could add more quality to the backline in the long run rather than achieve a temporary solution with an ageing player.
The only club that is interested in signing Ramos at this point is PSG. However, the big question is whether Ramos will take the one year deal offered to him by Madrid, or whether he will stick to his demands of a two year deal and potentially leave the club for free.
Manchester City were also linked with Ramos, and were willing to offer him a decent salary alongside a two year deal, but the resurgence of John Stones as a solid partner to the revolutionary Ruben Dias could rule out a lot of playing time for Ramos. Hence, a move to the Etihad is quite unlikely as well.
