Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge & Pro Battery Capacities Leaked: 300mAh Boost Confirmed

Samsung is addressing one of the biggest complaints about the Galaxy S25 Edge with significantly larger batteries in the upcoming S26 series. According to reliable sources, both the Galaxy S26 Edge and S26 Pro will feature substantial battery upgrades when they launch in January 2026.

Galaxy S26 Series: Battery Capacity Breakdown

The leaked battery specifications show Samsung’s commitment to improving endurance across the lineup:

Addressing S25 Edge Battery Criticism

The Galaxy S25 Edge received praise for its thin and light design but faced criticism for its smaller 3,900mAh battery. Samsung appears to have listened, boosting the S26 Edge to 4,200mAh – a significant 300mAh improvement that should translate to noticeably better all-day performance.

Lineup Changes: Pro Replaces Base Model

Recent reports suggest Samsung is restructuring its flagship lineup, with the Galaxy S26 Pro succeeding this year’s Galaxy S25, while the Galaxy S26 Edge will replace both the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Edge. This means:

• S26 Pro: 4,300mAh (vs S25’s 4,000mAh)
• S26 Edge: 4,200mAh (smaller than S25+’s 4,900mAh but improved over S25 Edge)

What About Charging Speeds?

While battery capacities are confirmed, charging speeds remain unclear for the Edge and Pro models. However, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is confirmed to feature 5,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging, suggesting Samsung may upgrade charging across the lineup.

2nm Chipset Efficiency Boost

Samsung confirmed earlier that it plans to equip at least some Galaxy S26 models with its first 2nm smartphone chipset, the Exynos 2600. This advanced processor should deliver better power efficiency, potentially making the battery improvements even more impactful for real-world usage.

Expected Improvements Beyond Battery

Along with larger batteries, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to feature:

• Enhanced camera systems compared to predecessors
• More efficient 2nm Exynos 2600 processor
• Improved overall performance and AI capabilities

January 2026 Launch Timeline

The Galaxy S26 Edge and S26 Pro are expected to launch alongside the S26 Ultra in January 2026, following Samsung’s traditional flagship announcement schedule.

The 300mAh battery boost for both models addresses a key weakness of the current generation while maintaining Samsung’s focus on sleek design. Combined with more efficient processors, these improvements should deliver significantly better battery life.
