Despite rejecting Manchester City’s latest advances to get him to sign a new deal with the Premier League club, Kevin de Bruyne is expected to remain at the Etihad in the years to come and extend his contract with the Sky Blues soon as well.

Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio said that an agreement between the two parties was imminent on their Here We Go podcast on Patreon. They mentioned that it takes time to agree on a contract with the bigger players in teams.

And the Belgian midfielder has been, without a shadow of a doubt, the best player in the Manchester City squad, as well as in the conversation as the single best player in lPremier League, in the last year. The midfielder managed to win the PFA Player of the Year Award for the 19/20 season, and finished the campaign with the most assists.

His quality performances have continued this season, with 8 assists and 3 goals in the league so far. Considering the financial situation right now, extending the contract of one of their best players would feel like a new signing in itself.

Pep Guardiola really admires the player and sees the player as a vital part of their future. With positive feelings between both sides regarding an extension of tenure, it is only a matter of time before an official announcement confirming the re-signing of the player is put out.
