AMD is all set to announce its next-gen Zen 4 CPUs hopefully by next month to announce its supremacy in high-performance computing and also challenge its biggest rival Intel, which is also in the race to launch new 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors as soon as next month.
We also know AMD would launch their new Genoa server chips based on their new Zen 4 architecture as promised previous by the Red team during CES 2022. Now, it is much more evident from the leaked images, that AMD does plan to make these new monstrous 5nm based EPYC processors available soon in the market.
AMD EPYC 9654 pictured – What it means?
Hardware tester YuuKi_AnS has got hold of the first production sample of the EPYC 9654 CPU which will sport up to 96 cores and 192 threads. This is a huge uplift in cores and ofcourse performance as its predecessor 3rd Gen EPYC “Milan” processors maxed up to 64 cores, which means this EPYC 9654 processor will provide 50% more cores than the full-fledged CPUs of last year.
As we see, the picture was taken in a tray of CPUs that suggests these are the retail units which could be supplied to OEMs before the planned launch to take place soon. Drawing up to 360W TDP, these will insanely powerful chips as these will based on new 5nm Zen 4 architecture that is slated to have roughly 15% IPC uplift compared to Zen 3.
Seeing the progress of AMD, it can safely be estimated that AMD is on track to launch all of these EPYC processors to market by the end of 2022 alongside its proposed Ryzen 7000 consumer CPUs codenamned “Raphael”.
