AMD EPYC 9654 pictured – What it means?

Hardware tester YuuKi_AnS has got hold of the first production sample of the EPYC 9654 CPU which will sport up to 96 cores and 192 threads. This is a huge uplift in cores and ofcourse performance as its predecessor 3rd Gen EPYC “Milan” processors maxed up to 64 cores, which means this EPYC 9654 processor will provide 50% more cores than the full-fledged CPUs of last year.

Drawing up to 360W TDP, these will insanely powerful chips as these will based on new 5nm Zen 4 architecture that is slated to have roughly 15% IPC uplift compared to Zen 3.

Seeing the progress of AMD, it can safely be estimated that AMD is on track to launch all of these EPYC processors to market by the end of 2022 alongside its proposed Ryzen 7000 consumer CPUs codenamned “Raphael”.
