Chimney Finally Takes the Captain’s Seat

After months of serving as interim captain following Bobby Nash’s tragic death, Chimney officially becomes the permanent Captain of the 118. The journey wasn’t easy—he struggled with feelings of inadequacy and worried the team would resent him for stepping into Bobby’s shoes.

Maddie provided the crucial push Chimney needed, reminding him that he doesn’t have to replace Bobby—he just needs to be himself. The turning point came during a med spa emergency when Chimney had to make the tough call to stop resuscitation, proving he has the strength to lead.

The team presented Chimney with a watch engraved with “The 118 is not just a number, it’s us”, a touching moment that solidified his place as the rightful leader. His parents attended the swearing-in ceremony, making it even more special.

Hen’s Alarming Health Crisis

The episode’s most concerning storyline involves Hen’s mysterious symptoms. After responding to emergencies, Hen experienced hand tremors, collapsed in her living room, and woke up hours later. She noticed a strange rash but dismissed it as an allergy.

Rather than confiding in Karen or the team, Hen is keeping everything secret. She paid out of pocket for a full-body scan at a med spa, specifically requesting that no one be informed. This isolation is deeply concerning given her symptoms—tremors, fainting spells, and possible neurological issues.

Harry’s Second Chance

Harry Grant’s firefighter dreams nearly ended before they began when his juvenile criminal record surfaced during his application. The arrest stemmed from self-defense at a convenience store, but it threatened his LAFD academy acceptance.

Buck refused to let his mentee give up. He introduced Harry to Chief Simpson, giving him the opportunity to explain his situation. The episode ended with Harry being accepted into the academy, with Athena surprisingly supportive of his choice.

What’s Next?

With the show on hiatus until January 2026, fans are left wondering about Hen’s diagnosis. The symptoms could indicate anything from a stroke to cancer, though 9-1-1’s unpredictable nature makes speculation difficult—after all, who saw Bobby’s Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever coming?

Chimney’s official captaincy should bring stability to the 118, but Hen’s health crisis threatens to shake the family that’s already lost Bobby and Eddie’s abuela this season.

Chimney struggled with imposter syndrome and feared the team would resent him for taking Bobby’s place. Q: What could be wrong with Hen based on her symptoms?

Hen’s tremors, fainting episode, and rash could indicate several serious conditions including neurological disorders, autoimmune diseases, or even cancer. However, the show hasn’t revealed her diagnosis yet, leaving fans to worry during the winter hiatus. Her decision to hide symptoms from Karen and get tested secretly suggests she’s deeply concerned about the severity of her condition.
