6 Best Apps for Football Statistics

As the football betting industry and smartphone usage continue to grow, the number of apps dedicated to the beautiful game is increasing. Regardless of which leagues or markets you bet on, the right mobile app can provide insights to find value in the market, leading to profitable betting.

Below, I’ve tested and reviewed six market-leading apps that offer football statistics, particularly for betting purposes.

6 Best Apps for Football Statistics

1. Mostbet Stats

Mostbet Stats is an established app providing in-depth stats on team performances in betting markets. Its goal is to help users identify trends or make betting selections based on team performance. Although it doesn’t cover every possible statistic, its unique view of fixtures makes it essential for football fans and bettors.

The match preview screen is the most impressive feature, showing stats for upcoming games in a wide range of betting markets. The app includes tabs for recent results, predictions, league tables, expected goals (xG), and stats for each betting market. Users can customize the stats based on the number of games or specific time frames, offering a level of analysis not available elsewhere.

Overall, this is the best football stats app on the market, setting the standard for this genre and essential for all football fans.

2. Stats Zone

Stats Zone is a unique app powered by live Opta Stats, allowing users to review and analyze a vast number of data points, including goals, shots, dribbles, and passes for matches in 11 competitions. Although not the clearest app to use and only available on the App Store, its data is superior to other apps.

The app is best used as a “second screen” alongside live games, providing context and analyzing the flow of the game. While free to download, only MLS and the Chinese Super League are available without charge. Access to other leagues costs £10 annually, with an option to pay £20. Historical leagues and data are available for free.

This app is best for those seeking in-depth analysis of game actions, though it may not be worth the investment for casual fans.

3. TeamForm

TeamForm aims to give users a detailed indication of team form. The app is bright and well-laid-out, with instructions pointing out hidden and locked parts. While free to download, all content is locked and can be unlocked for £8.99 a month.

TeamForm rates each team based on past performances using its statistical modeling and algorithm. This rating system provides a quick indication of team form before a game. The app also includes game insights, head-to-head records, and standout stats.

While the app has an interesting concept, the excessive locked content raises questions about the value of in-app purchases.

4. SofaScore

SofaScore offers scores from a wide range of leagues, embedded Twitter feeds, phase-by-phase scoring stats, and an in-app player rating system. It also includes a list of streams and TV channels broadcasting the match.

The referee stats page is impressive, offering a detailed breakdown of cards issued in each competition. The app’s layout is clean, but the inclusion of numerous statistics creates a cluttered feel.

Overall, this is a solid app with a wide range of features, but it lacks standout features to differentiate it from the competition.

5. TLS Football

TLS Football has a retro look, similar to old-school Football Manager games. Despite its appearance, it offers strong features such as live commentary and an informative stats screen, updating live in-play and post-game.

Pre-match, TLS Football offers limited stats, but it provides a detailed record of teams’ performances in each competition since 2011. The app also includes referee stats, though it lacks filtering options.

Overall, this is a solid app but lacks features compared to others.

6. Bet Data

Bet Data is a modern, feature-heavy app with live scores and more than basic stats for upcoming games. It stands out with its range of leagues and odds displayed ahead of matches. The app uses various visuals like pie charts, tables, and block charts to provide information, though the design feels cluttered.

A subscription is needed to access certain parts of the app, but details about additional benefits are unclear, and no records of the success of the tips are provided.

Overall, Bet Data has several positive features, but its outdated design makes navigation difficult.

Each App Has Strengths and Weaknesses

The market for football statistics has evolved significantly, offering various apps for download. While Edge Football Stats tops my rankings, each app has unique strengths and weaknesses that appeal to different football fans.

This content is accurate and true to the best of the author’s knowledge and is not meant to substitute for formal and individualized advice from a qualified professional.
